Planet Beach® announces the crowning of Charlotte-native Shana Prevette as Ms. Planet Beach® International 2008, the company’s official spokesperson, cover model and goodwill ambassador.  Planet Beach®, one of the globe’s fastest growing franchise-based corporations, and title sponsor Mystic Tan hosted the nation’s largest international spokesmodel competition at the Ritz Carlton New Orleans.

Planet Beach Announces Winner of Newest Spokesmodel Search Cindy Cancienne Takes Title in the First-Ever Ms. Planet Beach Gen- X Competition On August 6, 2007, Planet Beach put out a call to fabulous and unique women ages 36 and up to participate in the first-ever Ms. Planet Beach Gen- X competition. After a competitive and successful nationwide search Planet Beach is proud to announce the inaugural winner, Cindy Cancienne. 

As Ms. Planet Beach Gen- X 2008 Cancienne receives a $12,000 contract, a waived Planet Beach franchise license valued at $30,000 to start a Planet Beach franchise and a photo shoot to appear in Planet Beach's marketing materials.

“Ms. Planet Beach Gen- X is a representation of our successful growth and commitment to ensuring our initiatives are inclusive of all clients,” Planet Beach CEO Steve Smith said. “We found it fitting to look for the new 2008 face of our company within the generation that has faithfully supported us since Planet Beach's inception.”

The Ms. Planet Beach Gen- X Spokesmodel Search premiered as an online competition with website visitors voting for their favorite Ms. Planet Beach Gen- X contestant by viewing posted profiles and pictures. Ms. Planet Beach Gen- X expands Planet Beach's online and social media presence and contestants used various strategies to encourage votes, including promoting Ms. Planet Beach Gen- X on their personal MySpace pages. 

The Ms. Planet Beach Gen-X pageant serves as a one of many of Planet Beach Franchising Corporation's charitable endeavors. Each Gen- X online vote contributed $1.00 to support Planet Beach's Share the Sunshine philanthropic platform. Share the Sunshine supports various charitable endeavors such as Habitat for Humanity and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The top three online contestants traveled to New Orleans to compete for the first title of Ms. Planet Beach Gen- X. Bobbi Sue McCarty from Florida and Mickie Dirstine from California are runners' up for the title.
